Maria Rasmussen Proofreading helps ensure your written work is easy to read, punctuation savvy, and mindful of proper formatting – in a word, outstanding.
FOR COURT REPORTERS
The proceedings have been documented verbatim, the job has been scoped, and now it’s time for the transcript to be fine-tuned by a proofreader.
Before I look at your work, I ask you to fill out a preference sheet. In order to make appropriate corrections, I use this sheet as well as your preferred reference book (Morson’s English Guide for Court Reporters, Margie Wakeman Wells’s Bad Grammar/Good Punctuation, or The Gregg Reference Manual). I also use the Merriam-Webster dictionary.
Your transcript will be corrected in PDF format. I make note of distracting mistakes, such as inconsistent spelling, missing or misused words, and punctuation errors. I pay attention to formatting guidelines to make sure your cover, appearance, index, and certificate pages look their best. You can rest assured knowing that your proofreader examines the accuracy of exhibits, page numbers, dates, legal terms, and more.
After the transcript is annotated, I send the corrections to you in PDF format via email. Errors are marked on the page in red text and yellow highlighting.
